Marty’s deep experience allows her to step in and get the work done, on time and on budget. Her work includes project management, strategic planning, fundraising, writing, communications, board development, and interim leadership roles.
Public Affairs
During Marty’s eight years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, she served as Chair of the Education Committee and as Assistant Vice-Chair of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee. With her in-depth knowledge, strong credibility in state and municipal government, and exceptional advocacy and communication skills, she provides policy counsel and strategic advice to business leaders, trade association executives, and not-for-profit organizations.
Her work includes:
- Assessing needs and available solutions and providing long or short term strategies.
- Drafting, analyzing, and monitoring legislation pending in the state legislature and in municipal governments across the state.
- Creating and sustaining coalitions in order to build consensus for a proposal and drive public policy, including community relations and grassroots organizing.
- Designing and implementing communications strategies, including working with the media, to influence key stakeholders and public opinion.
Employment Law and Human Resources
As an employment attorney and former human resources executive, Marty provides assistance and legal advice on sensitive employee relations issues, and she tackles projects such as employee handbooks, assessments of policies and procedures, employment and severance agreements, and training of managers and staff.
