8th Suffolk District
The 8th Suffolk District consists of six neighborhoods in Boston and Cambridge. In Cambridge, the district includes Cambridgeport and parts of Area 4 and MIT. In Boston, the district includes the West End, the Back Bay, and most of Beacon Hill.

To find out if you live in the district, click here: My Election Information. The Massachusetts Secretary of State's website allows you to type in your address and find out the district in which you live and where you vote.
For the 2012 election, the 8th Suffolk District is revised based on the 2010 census. In Cambridge, the district includes Cambridgeport, MIT/Kendall Square, and the riverfront along Cambridge Parkway. In Boston, the district includes the West End, the Back Bay, most of Beacon Hill and a part of the Fenway.

Register to Vote
Who may register?
Only a person who is:
- a U.S. citizen; and
- a resident of Massachusetts; and
- 18 years old on or before election day.
How can I register to vote?
You may register to vote:
- In person or by mail, by completing a mail-in registration form and delivering it to your city or town election office; or
- At any local election office in Massachusetts; or
- At any voter registration event; or
- When applying for or renewing your driver's license at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
By mail: Mail-in registration forms are widely available. To obtain a mail-in registration form, please call the MA Secretary of State's office at 617-727-2828 or 1-800-462-VOTE and a form will be sent to you.
Mail the completed form to Boston or Cambridge City Hall, depending on where in the district you live. You should receive a confirmation notice in 2 to 3 weeks. If you do not, please call your local election office.
In person: In Boston, go to the Elections Department, Room 241 in City Hall. The telephone number is (617) 635-4635. In Cambridge, go to the Elections Department located at 51 Inman Street. The telephone number is (617) 349-4361.
At the Registry of Motor Vehicles: Keep your motor voter receipt until you receive confirmation that you are registered. If you do not receive confirmation, please call your local election office.
