Veterans

Marty recognizes that we must provide every possible assistance to our veterans, both those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and those who served our nation in the past. These brave men and women have defended our country and deserve access to education, job training, and housing.

Marty and her colleagues have increased benefits for our service members, veterans, and their families, including raising their pay, expanding the Welcome Home Bonus program, increasing housing opportunities, and providing the first increase in tax abatements and exemptions for veterans and military families in 25 years. Marty also voted to waive the tuition and fees at any state university for military personnel.

Marty was proud to support the establishment of the Massachusetts Medal of Liberty to honor fallen service members.
