Welcome!
Thank you for visiting my website. I am honored to serve the residents of the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, the West End, and Cambridge in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
The district I represent will include part of the Fenway as of January 2013. I look forward to working closely with Fenway’s residents (as I have done in the past on issues of mutual concern, including the Berklee College of Music master plan) as we strive to protect and enhance the neighborhood’s high quality of life. Also as of January 2013, the portion of Area 4 in Cambridge that I represent will shift into Rep. Tim Toomey’s district.
This session, I am serving as a vice chair of the House Committee on Ways and Means. During the 2009-2010 session, I was the House Chair of the Joint Committee on Education. I authored the nation’s most comprehensive anti-bullying law, and I led the charge on the recent education reform law. Previously, as Vice Chair of the House Ethics Committee, I helped write the new ethics reform law. And, of course, in these challenging economic times, I have kept a strong focus on creating jobs.
I hope you find my website useful. I regularly update the News section with important information about neighborhood issues and State House activities. You will also find information about how to register to vote and where to vote if you live in my district.
As always, please feel free to call or write with your ideas, concerns or questions. Click on Contact to see the various ways to reach me.
Sincerely,
